How Three London Hotels Turned Earth Day into Meaningful Community Action

How Three London Hotels Turned Earth Day into Meaningful Community Action

On 22 April 2026, three Millennium Hotels and Resorts properties in London marked Earth Day through hands-on sustainability initiatives, each rooted in the local environment and shaped by the teams who know it best.

The Bailey’s Hotel London Kensington: Everyday Habits, Lasting Impact

At The Bailey’s Hotel London Kensington, Bari Khan and the team focused on small changes with meaningful results. The introduction of office plants that naturally cool and freshen the workspace was paired with a drive to encourage reusable bags and water bottles across the property. The hotel’s rooftop garden also took centre stage, with colleagues tending to the greenery high above the city as a visible reminder that sustainability lives at every level of a building.

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London: A Community Litter Pick

Across town, the team at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London organised a community litter pick that stretched from the hotel entrance to the harbour via Imperial Wharf Station. The initiative helped tidy the immediate area while deepening the team’s connection to the neighbourhood it serves.

Millennium Hotel and Conference Centre Gloucester London: Our Power, Our Plant

At Millennium Hotel and Conference Centre Gloucester London, Chris van Dam, Regional General Manager, and Shalini Choubey, Assistant HR Manager, led a symbolic celebration inspired by the theme “Our Power, Our Plant.” Through a collective plant-watering activity, colleagues reflected on how individual actions, when combined, create meaningful environmental change.

Together, these three initiatives reflect a consistent commitment across Millennium Hotels and Resorts to operating responsibly and finding practical, team-led ways to reduce environmental impact.

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London Joins The Multibank

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London Joins The Multibank

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London has entered a new partnership with The Multibank, a charitable initiative founded by former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, that connects businesses with local charities to redistribute surplus non-food items rather than disposing of them.

A First Donation of 200 Duvets

For its first act under the partnership, The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London donated 200 duvets to support The Multibank’s mission of ensuring that surplus goods reach families and charities in the local community. The donation was made possible by the hotel’s housekeeping team, led by Executive Head Housekeeper Costina Farrat.

Supporting the Local Community

The Multibank operates on a simple principle: redirect rather than discard. By channeling items that hotels and businesses would otherwise throw away, it ensures that essential goods reach those in greatest need across local communities.

A huge thank you to our housekeeping team at Chelsea Harbour Hotel, led by Executive Head Housekeeper Costina Farrat, for making this initiative possible. This new partnership with The Multibank ensures we continue our commitment to transforming how we support our local London community through sustainable actions.
– Kim Tian, Cluster General Manager, The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa London

This partnership marks the beginning of an ongoing commitment by the hotel to reduce waste and support its London neighbourhood through practical, sustainable action.

Faiz Alam Appointed Cluster General Manager for Two Singapore Hotels

M Social Hotel Singapore and Studio M Hotel Singapore welcome a new chapter in leadership.

With effect from 1 February 2026, Faiz Alam has been appointed Cluster General Manager, overseeing both properties. Bringing with him over three decades of international hospitality experience, Faiz is set to lead two of Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ most distinctive lifestyle brands into their next phase of growth.

A Track Record Built Across Markets

Faiz began his career at iconic Singapore properties, including Raffles Hotel Singapore and Goodwood Park Hotel Singapore, before progressing into senior leadership roles with Starwood and Marriott International across Singapore, Malaysia and India. His experience includes key positions at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and leadership roles in India, where he served as Complex General Manager for Sheraton Grand and Aloft Bengaluru, overseeing the successful pre-opening of both properties.

Most recently, Faiz led the transformation of Wyndham to Aloft Singapore Novena, the world’s largest Aloft property and a leading lifestyle brand under Marriott International. His achievements have been widely recognised: he was named General Manager of the Year 2016 for Asia Pacific by Marriott International and General Manager of the Year 2015 for Starwood Southeast Asia.

A Positive Impact Across the Cluster

In the nine months leading up to his formal appointment, Faiz has already driven strong momentum across both properties. Revenue, RevPAR, and Gross Operating Profit all saw measurable improvements, while TripAdvisor rankings climbed for both hotels.

Beyond financial performance, Faiz placed a strong emphasis on culture, fostering a more cohesive environment, strengthening leadership teams, and empowering team members to contribute meaningfully and grow in their roles.

The result is a cluster that is not only performing more strongly commercially, but also operating with a renewed sense of alignment and shared purpose.

Outside of work, Faiz is passionate about travel, golf and fitness, which speaks to the same energy and discipline he brings to his leadership.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts looks forward to seeing what the next chapter holds for both properties under his direction.

Earth Hour Unites Millennium Hotels and Resorts

Earth Hour Unites Millennium Hotels and Resorts

On 28 March 2026, Millennium Hotels and Resorts came together across more than 10 destinations to mark Earth Hour, each property bringing its own unique approach to the global movement.

What unfolded was more than a symbolic gesture. It was a collective moment of purpose, where individual efforts came together to reflect a shared commitment to a more sustainable future.

Lights Off

As the hour approached, external façades at participating properties were switched off, allowing city skylines to dim in quiet solidarity.

Lobbies and public areas followed, with non-essential lighting gently reduced to lower energy consumption while transforming familiar spaces into calm, intimate settings. In that moment of stillness, each hotel stood as a symbol of a shared effort towards a more conscious future.

Light Up

Guests were invited to take part by lighting candles that cast a warm, ambient glow through public spaces. These small gestures created pockets of connection, bringing people together in a shared experience of reflection and quiet intention.

Culinary Efforts

Selected properties added a thoughtful culinary dimension to the evening, introducing Earth Hour food and beverage offers and themed desserts crafted with sustainability in mind. These culinary moments gave guests a tangible way to engage with the occasion, proof that conscious choices can be as enjoyable as they are meaningful.

These initiatives are part of Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ broader sustainability journey, where conscious choices, both large and small, add up to lasting impact.

M Social Collective Returns to M Social Hotel Paris

Shirley Regnault leads sunrise yoga to open the second M Social Collective at M Social Hotel Paris.

M Social Hotel Paris hosted the second edition of the M Social Collective, a brand activation that brought together a curated community of entrepreneurs, journalists, authors, creators and partners for a morning of connection, culture and conversation.

In true M Social fashion, the event was not designed simply to deliver content, but to create the conditions for something more lasting, meaningful exchanges, new perspectives, and genuine connections that extend beyond the moment.

A Morning Rooted in Movement and Intention

The morning opened with a sunrise yoga session led by wellness coach Shirley Regnault. The session established the tone: deliberate, unhurried and focused on presence. The practice set up what followed, a transition from physical calm into the kind of open, honest conversation that a well-structured morning makes possible.

Conversation on Women, Identity and Borders

The panel discussion brought together three voices with distinct perspectives on women’s entrepreneurship and life across cultures. Ajiri Aki, Manon Lagreve and Lindsey Tramuta joined the stage, moderated by Carolyn Wishnowski, Vice President, Global Branding, Marketing and Loyalty at Millennium Hotels and Resorts. The conversation covered the realities of building creative and professional lives that span countries and identities, and what it takes to do so with intention.

Sensory Workshops and Community

Partners Lululemon and De Nada Paris contributed to the curation of the experience, with workshops and moments throughout the morning designed to engage the senses and open the space for genuine exchange.

The second M Social Collective at M Social Hotel Paris made clear that the format is finding its rhythm. The gathering was proof that when the conditions are right, a hotel can be more than a place to stay. It can be where a community convenes.
