M Social Hotel New York Downtown Wins NYCxDESIGN 2026

M Social Hotel New York Downtown has been recognised as a winner at the 2026 NYCxDESIGN Awards in the Hotel Lobby/Public Space category. The award celebrates excellence in design and innovation across New York City, and this recognition reflects what the hotel has built: public spaces that draw people in, hold their attention, and leave a lasting impression.

A Space That Reflects the City

The lobby and public spaces at M Social Hotel New York Downtown were designed to reflect the dynamic energy and culture of downtown Manhattan. Creativity, functionality, and social connectivity were built into the fabric of the space from the outset, fostering interaction, engagement, and memorable guest experiences while expressing the personality of the local neighbourhood.

The result is an environment that is both welcoming and unmistakably M Social.

The Project Team

Behind this recognition is a collaboration across design, operational, and brand perspectives. Rajiv Puri, Senior Vice President, Global Technical Services, Capital Projects and Sustainability, and Jay Arn Lim, Vice President, Global Technical Services and Capital Projects, led the project alongside a wider team whose dedication and shared vision shaped every aspect of the space.

For Millennium Hotels and Resorts, the NYCxDESIGN win is a reminder that exceptional hospitality begins before the first interaction: it begins with the space itself.

IGNITE! Singapore Unites the Global Sales Community

On 16 and 17 April 2026, Millennium Hotels and Resorts brought IGNITE! Singapore to two of the city’s landmark properties, inviting leisure, corporate, and MICE partners to connect with its global sales leaders across two evenings of exchange and discovery.

An Evening at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore opened the series on 16 April, hosting an immersive evening designed to demonstrate the hotel’s strengths as a venue for dynamic, high-impact business events. Guests moved through a curated journey of live culinary stations representing different regions of the world, paired with attentive service and thoughtfully orchestrated moments. A signature cocktail crafted by Adam Lee Soon Keat provided a distinctive and memorable highlight.

The Grand Finale at M Hotel Singapore City Centre

Following Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore’s successful hosting of IGNITE! Singapore, M Hotel Singapore City Centre served as the venue for the programme’s grand finale on 17 April. Set within the hotel’s Banquet Suite, the event featured three panoramic LED video walls and immersive audio experiences, providing a dynamic backdrop for the closing session. As the final chapter of IGNITE! Singapore 2026, the event reflected the hotel’s heritage-inspired hospitality while fostering meaningful cross-market dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among global sales teams.

The food programme paid tribute to Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage. Canapés ranged from an Ayam Buah Keluak Tartlet and Kaya Butter Chinese Doughnut Toast topped with fresh grated coconut, to Grilled Corn and Beetroot Feta Cheese Roll and Grilled Scallop with Braised Daikon. Live stations served Popiah and Kueh Pie Tee with homemade chilli sauce, a Seafood Pao Fan in fragrant homemade broth, and Salmon Wellington with spinach and mushroom, finished with a leek-capers cream. At the beverage station, Teh Tarik was pulled to order alongside chilled Chin Chow and freshly poured Soya Bean.

Across both evenings, IGNITE! Singapore demonstrated the breadth of Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ hospitality in the city, and the strength of its global sales network.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts stays No.1 among eight Singapore hotel brands

Millennium Hotels and Resorts stays No.1 among eight Singapore hotel brands

Singapore’s stable economic environment has enabled most of its key sectors to expand across the wider business landscape, resulting in the hotel sector’s 4% year-on-year brand value growth to USD1.1 billion in 2026, across eight brands. Millennium Hotels and Resorts retains its position as Singapore’s most valuable hotel brand, with brand value up 25% to USD526 million. The rise also makes it the country’s fastest-growing hotel brand, moving the group up three spots to 27th in the Singapore 100 2026 report.

Diverse Offerings, Growing Portfolio

The brand’s achievement this year can be attributed to its diverse offerings, which extend beyond hospitality. M Social, the group’s lifestyle brand, drove engagement, appealed to younger demographics, and attracted visitors seeking unique experiences, while the relaunch of MyMillennium in 2024 provided travellers with incentives to visit and receive exclusive offers and experiential rewards. Further reinforcing the strength of the portfolio, both Copthorne and The Biltmore entered the Singapore Top 100 rankings for the first time, placing 67th and 74th respectively.

Rising Brand Strength

The group’s brand strength has shown a significant rise, leaping 23 spots to become the 52nd strongest Singaporean brand, earning a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 61.6/100 and an A+ brand strength rating, marking a notable improvement from 2025. Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ rising brand strength is driven by its reputation as a trustworthy and reliable choice for visitors, due to its location, availability, and accessibility. The brand’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability initiatives has also contributed to this rise, supporting a more modern brand profile, particularly in higher-end segments.

Leadership Perspectives

Kwek Eik Sheng, Executive Director, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, said:

Being recognised once again as Singapore’s No.1 hotel brand and the nation’s fastest-growing hotel brand is an achievement we are deeply proud of. More importantly, it reflects the trust our guests place in us and the dedication of our teams across the world who bring our brands to life every day.

As a global hospitality company with 145 hotels across 80 destinations, our focus has always been on building brands that remain relevant, distinctive, and meaningful to today’s travellers. Over the past year, we have continued to strengthen our global presence while investing in the areas that matter most to our guests, elevating experiences, enhancing service consistency, expanding lifestyle offerings such as M Social, and growing the MyMillennium loyalty ecosystem.

This award represents more than brand growth. It is a reflection of our people, our culture of hospitality, and our long-term commitment to creating memorable stays delivered with genuine care. We are also encouraged by the growing recognition of our sustainability efforts and the stronger connections we continue to build with our guests, partners, and communities worldwide.

Cinn Tan, Chief Commercial Officer, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, said:

This recognition reflects the strong commercial momentum we have built across our global portfolio and the effectiveness of our continued transformation efforts in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Over the past year, we have focused on strengthening our commercial capabilities through more strategic distribution, enhanced digital performance, and deeper partnerships that expand our reach across key markets and customer segments. At the same time, we are leveraging data, technology, and customer insights more strategically to create increasingly personalised and seamless experiences throughout the guest journey.

The continued growth of MyMillennium has played an important role in this strategy, allowing us to deepen guest engagement, strengthen loyalty, and deliver more relevant offerings at scale. Looking ahead, we will continue accelerating our commercial transformation agenda by investing in digital innovation, organisational agility, and strategic growth opportunities that drive long-term value across our brands and markets worldwide.

The 2026 results see three brands from the Millennium Hotels and Resorts portfolio placing inside Singapore’s Top 100, with brand value and brand strength both moving in the same direction.
