Hard Days Night Hotel Liverpool Celebrates Book Launch

Few hotels carry the weight of a city’s most famous story in their walls. On 6 February, Hard Days Night Hotel Liverpool opened its doors for the launch of a book that documents how this property became one of Liverpool’s most culturally distinctive hotels, welcoming guests from the Beatles community, civic leaders, and the hotel team for an evening that brought that story to life.

A Room Full of Legacy

The evening drew figures whose connections to Liverpool and its musical heritage ran deep. Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister, was among those present, alongside Bill Heckle, owner of the world-famous Cavern Club. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Barbara Murray, and Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region and Labour MP, also attended, lending civic significance to the occasion.

The Story Behind the Hotel

The concept for the evening centred on showcasing the artwork that inspired the property from its original concept through to its evolution as one of Liverpool’s most culturally distinctive hotels. Every detail reflected this narrative, from the “Zebra Crossing” dancefloor and vinyl records used to serve canapes, to the hotel’s signature Strawberry Fields cocktail.

Teamwork on the Ground

The success of the evening was driven by strong on-site collaboration. Kieran Cawley, Marketing Manager for UK and Europe, worked alongside the team including Liam Baker-Bellew, General Manager of Hard Days Night Hotel Liverpool, to ensure the event ran smoothly and positioned the occasion as a meaningful next chapter for the property.

The artworks displayed on easels during the launch are the main pictures and large prints featured in the book, each telling part of the story of how the hotel came to be.
