Finnie the Unicorn Checks In at Millennium Hotel Glasgow

Finnie arrives at the front steps of Millennium Hotel Glasgow, fresh off the train.

Glasgow hosted the 2026 Commonwealth Games through July and August, drawing athletes from across the Commonwealth to the city. Millennium Hotel Glasgow was host to an auxiliary service, UK Anti-Doping. The mascot for the Games was Finnie the Unicorn, representing Scotland’s national animal, and this is Finnie’s journey as a guest at the hotel.

Arrival at Glasgow Queen Street

Finnie arrived at the hotel having just come in by train at Glasgow Queen Street.

Joining Team Millennium

Finnie was keen to be a member of the team and wanted to join Team Millennium, Glasgow, so Alistair, a member of the hotel team, checked him in at reception.

A Room on the First Floor

Finnie was happy to stay on the first floor, close to the adventure, close to the staff, and close to the stairs in case he was required to leap into action.

On Duty at the Games

It was not all fun. When the time came to be the mascot for the Games, Finnie took his place beside the banner and was happy to have his picture taken.
